The 19th edition of the SBSeg will be held at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME) and at the Oceanographic Institute (IO) of the University of São Paulo (USP) in São Paulo, SP. Both institutes are located on the main campus of the university.
USP's main campus is located in the city of São Paulo, specifically in the Butantã district (west of the city). The campus is between Jaguaré Bridge and the University City Bridge in Marginal Pinheiros. USP's Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME) is located at Rua do Matão, 1010 however, depending on the route path, the following address may also be useful: Avenida Professor Luciano Gualberto, 1171 (the Oceanographic Institute (IO) is across the street from the IME). Specifically, the coordinates of the IME are: latitude = -23.558745 and longitude = -46.731859.
Arriving by car will likely lead you to pass either the Marginal of the Tietê River or the Marginal of the Pinheiros River. However, if you do not pass one of the aforementioned marginals, there are signposts all over the city to locate them. When reaching one of these marginals, there are two alternatives: (1) From the Marginal Tietê, drive toward Lapa until reaching the Marginal Pinheiros and then continue going straight until reaching the Escola Politécnica Avenue (after Jaguaré Bridge), which provides access to USP's main campus; (2) From the Marginal Pinheiros, drive toward Pinheiros until reaching the University City Bridge and Alvarenga street, which has access to USP's main campus.
It is worth mentioning that the website of the Traffic Engineering Company of São Paulo (CET) provides important information about traffic in the city and road space rationing on business days.
The city of São Paulo offers access to the USP by using public transportation (there is currently no subway line on campus, however there are two exclusive bus lines that connect the Butantã Station, which is the most proximate to the campus, to the University and vice versa), conventional taxis, in addition to Uber and other similar services. Mobile applications such as Google Maps and Moovit are good options for getting around the city. There are three conventional taxi stations on campus, the most proximate from the IME is located at the Banks Square: Banks Square (11) 30914488, Rectory of the University (11) 30913556 and University Hospital (11) 30913536.
The two main airports in the city of São Paulo are Congonhas Airport, located in the south, and Cumbica Airport, located in the city of Guarulhos, Metropolitan Region of São Paulo.
